Some deaths in detention have been widely reported, such as a middle-aged medical chief who lost his life in prison after four months in confinement.

An inmate detained alongside the individual stated that he was brought to the yard by guards just prior to his passing, clearly wounded and naked from the waist down. His corpse has not been repatriated to Gaza.
